SHOWS and SHANTY CLUB

51 Cantonment St, Fremantle

SHANTY CLUB

On the second Monday of each month, come on board at Clancy’s Fish Pub in Fremantle for Shanty Club, hosted by The Lost Quays!

The evening’s about enjoyment in a very relaxed atmosphere, with a lot of good humour. Many of our songs benefit greatly from you, the assembled crowd, singing along to the choruses, which we can teach you - pretty easy, they are shanties. Or of course you can just grunt at a vaguely appropriate time if that comes more easily!

We’ll sing a few shanties and sea songs and invite a contribution from the blackboard. We can listen as part of the audience, join in with choruses, thump out a beat, or help out with harmonies - whatever you want.

See you there!

Sea Shanties with The Lost Quays

at the Old Courthouse, Fremantle

Friday 11th October 2024

In Fremantle’s Old Courthouse - opened in 1899, wonderfully restored in 2021, join The lost Quays for a night of rousing sea shanties. Sing along, dance or just wave your drinks but you are sure to be dragged into the nautical atmosphere created by these bawdy fellows. The Lost Quays prepare for the calm and the storm, with shanties and other songs of the sea! The sea shanty was the work song from the days of sail, telling of life on board, and the thoughts and desires of the men who sang them.
